Fossils of Oregon with Brian Magnier
April 12 @ 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Oregon is an incredible place to find and learn about fossils. While we may not have any dinosaurs for you to find (and we’ll talk about why that is!), there are many other interesting fossils that can tell us what life was like millions of years ago. In this program, we will cover the basics of how fossils form, what time periods Oregon’s fossils are from, and what plants and animals used to inhabit eastern Oregon. After a short (15-20 minute) presentation, we will take a look at some real fossils, and answer any questions you have about fossils, paleontology, and our local geology. Bring plenty of curiosity, and together we will explore Oregon’s past!
