The Chinese are no more in Tacoma : Tragedy, Resilience, and Memory in a PNW Community

January 31 @ 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

George Fox University history professor Ryan Dearinger explores Tacoma, Washington’s 1885 expulsion of its Chinese residents, a mass deportation that found widespread support among Tacoma’s white workers and labor unionists, many of whom helped carry it out.

Join us as we continue to explore themes and topics inspired by this year's Big Read book, "The Cold Millions", by Jess Walter. If you haven't already, pick up your free copy at Cook Memorial Library while supplies last!
